Tapio Wirkkala for Rosenthal Variation coffee set (cup & soucer). Designed in 1962 and Variation was in production until 1991. The cups come in two sizes depending on the year of manufacture. Originally the cups and saucers were smaller and later their size was increased.

These cups are manufactured 1965 so the are the original smaller size. See the pictures. The cup height 63mm, diam 65mm, the plate diam 130mm.

Variation’s design was considered so timeless, that it is even in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
